Straight Edge Guide for Hitachi Router (wood)?
I recently purchased a Hitachi router KM12VC Kit that includes the fixed base and base step. Excellent router, but can not find the straight edge guide that links to this thing. I called and emailed everywhere and I'm not having any luck at all. The edge number guide of all is 323-342 … Any suggestions? Thanks
What I do is just keep the router on one end of the line that the intention of cutting and make a fine pencil line on the edge of the base. Then I go into the other end of the line and turn off the router. With the cutter still in the hole, set a simple rule the base of the router to the pencil mark and clamp down on both ends. Then the route away. The rule can be almost anything-a piece of plywood, wood, iron or aluminum extrusion, or criterion. Just eyeball first, to make sure it is not deformed or low, and will work as well as any factory high-priced accessory recommended. Make sure the base of the router is in contact with his rule over the entire court. Let deviates is a common beginner's mistake. Depending on the timber and grain, you can pull from side to side.
