Is gardening with tires bad for the environment?

I have read many articles that suggest using old tires for Container gardening. My father is considering a tire garden. Does the tire pollute the soil rather than plants? He is bad burning tires .. Should I be concerned about the quality of plants? Have you seen any scientific evidence on this subject? Or environmental tests?

If you already have the tires – I say use em. " Do not burn them, however. I can not imagine any concerns about the quality of the vegetables because it really depends of land is put in and how to fertilize etc. They make rubber mulch these days – probably from old tires … One warning creature – if it is not going to turn the tires interior out to eliminate ridges, or whether to "store" tires, I would give a warning about the mosquitoes love to breed in the some water that is normally found in the mountains. Make sure the tires are filled close to the ground. If you have tires already, I see no advantage of this method over other methods of bed elevated. There are many unanswered questions that help us determine the best garden situation is for you: Want raised beds, because they have problems up and down? If that's the case, build a box (for the bottom detection and landscape fabric so water will flow through de) and set up some table legs or horses. Or Is it because you only have a little space? Container gardening is easily done with vegetables. See Vintage furniture book for really great ideas. You can use almost anything you can put a drain hole (if no chemical at first!). Personally, I think every time they recycle something to good use, it is worth – but for the love of God – Please do not try to buy new tires for this project out! Only if you have plenty of tires out there, I attached a link to a site that has many ideas for use in the garden. Good luck to you and dad!
