Jaw Locking

Did you know that the pressure exerted by the average dog's mouth is 150-200 pounds per square inch and 450 pounds of pressure is applied by some dogs mouth? Not me. Until yesterday.
It was a normal morning in the park, and I was using my dropping bombs fetch-tennis ball for my black lab / Sheppard mix, Chloe. She is usually a single purpose and reliably for our game and always manages to drop the ball between the legs without having to touch the slimy, black Icky (was yellow) the ball. And then he saw it: a brilliant training orange toy that another owner of a dog with her puppy was using about 200 meters in the field from us. Al Apparently, he called, suddenly fled like a rocket in the direction of the toy, leaving me and my stupid fetch-game behind him.
In Within seconds his jaws were locked in the training toy poor puppy owner, and she struts proud with him. The owner of the dog amused (the puppy was, however). When I finally reached them, the owner was severely puppy screaming "Drop it," Chloe was running at large circles, showing the toy, and I was standing, named Chloe, knowing that the chase would be futile and embarrassing way. I knew that once the jaw Chloe stuck on something, we had a problem.
Many dog owners can probably relate. When a commander "Drop It" by itself does not work, then what?
Well, there's "negotiating technique, which works with many dogs, but not all. And Chloe. Basically, "trade" something with the dog while saying "Drop it,''shows him a nice piece of hot dog smell, or liver, or leather crude, and usually will drop the issue that has been supporting and taking the treatment in place. With a little practice, the variety of sweets, and lots of praise, the end of your dog will fall anything – from toy formation of a strange cat from neighbor – with a single "Drop It". In theory, anyway.
Other methods? Well, sometimes your dog may have closed more than a toy – like an apple, another animal or a human being – and no time for games. Wet with the dog water, using a hose, a bucket, or even a bottle, often works to loosen its control. But not always. I have heard stories of owners having to pull the hose in the mouth of his dog before it finally let go.
You could also try pinching the dog's snout basically forcing him to hold his breath until he drops the object and can breathe again. It works sometimes. Again, not always.
Some pit bull owners to carry around something called a "break stick "in case the need to open the jaws of his dog after it clamps down on an object, animal or human being. Pit bull education websites recommends that owners take a break stick in case your dog gets into a fight. I suppose a line bar, hammer, or even a long screwdriver could also function in a dire situation.
Another method, I really had to use to dissolve a large dogfight is to jam a finger on attacking dog's anus. Yes, it is serious, but it worked to open the jaws of the big dog from the neck of the smaller dog, probably saving the most small dog's life. You do what you do. Ideally, of course, the "Drop It" trade game is the best and most reliable form aa a dog to drop objects. But it does take practice. And patience. And time. And above all, a bag of smelly, sticky dog, viscous, and delicious sweets.
With Chloe? Well, the owner of the puppy, finally got tired, he left his toy training with us and went home. (Yes, it was embarrassing.) I had given too. Unfortunately, I approached my truck, angry Chloe and says my other dog, Lolly, that his playing time was over. When I arrived, I turned around, and not Chloe was beside me, looking with his big brown eyes of my heart panting with his long tongue at rest. The training toy had fallen at my feet.
