What are SMART objectives?
Before you start using your goal setting tools, you wants to know what SMART objectives are and why they are different from those common goals. SMART stands for specific, measurable, achievable, relevant and duration. All these are key components of the goals they set.
Say you have a goal to buy a house someday. That is not a goal SMART. Instead, you should write a goal like "I want to buy a house in the suburbs by the time I'm 25" or "I want a vacation in Turks and Caicos Islands in 2015. "These goals say specifically what kind of house you want to buy. They also have a deadline. Now, whether or not you can get depends of their current situation. Why SMART Goals Matter

The importance of attitude
One of the reasons SMART objectives are effective is that writing them requires you to have a positive attitude about what you can accomplish in life. You can not put a deadline something that does not think it will never happen. But you have to temper this positive attitude with realistic expectations. Do not set yourself up for failure with foot-in-the-sky dreams. For example, if you do not have much talent, basketball, not make a goal of becoming a basketball star for the Chicago Bulls at the time you're 23.
Keep realistic goals and keep their efforts focused on getting them to be successful.
