Shaping Hammer
How do I setup hammer?

I am repairing a piano for my church. It is an old upright without logos identification of any kind. I'm assuming that was lost in a refinishing job before. Hammer Heads missing several, so I had replacements an older stud Burroughs. I took the same notes as my loved ones missing, but some of Burroughs' heads are bigger than their new neighbors. With In order to get a consistent sound up and down the keyboard, I must submit them to the smaller size? I need to remodel anyway, such as slotted than. I just want to know if the larger size will impact on the tone quality. Thanks for your time. Money is a problem for the Church, so I'm recycling and donation of parts labor.

The sound is not going to be consistent, for starters, because the heads of the piano other than weight, material and conducted by a different manufacturer. It is to be reshaping the surface so that the slots will align with the channels, essentially changing the quality of performance of the head. You are better off installing the heads as it is. If you try to make the head appear to be the same as the original, which might look nice inside the piano, but can be that sounds very different. Depending on the difficulty of what needs to be done, I think it would run the risk of sounding heads a little different in its unmodified state to try to change them thus making them very different sound.
