Super Knife
What type of steel will give me a super sharp knife? ?
I do not want something that oxidizes if left an imprint on it (some do), but definitely a step or three above 440C, which is pretty good. I would also like to know the best company to buy a knife that makes steel. I am looking for a folding knife, probably assisted opening.
If you want to go with Kershaw assisted opening. sandvic its steel can be obtained from acute fear and steel, but its only on the level of 440C. If you have ~ $ 150 to spend, got to Benchmade Nitrous Stryker's. D2 is a very hard, sharp steel, but between stainless and carbon steel in resistance to rust. Other alloy to look are VG-10 (SPYDERCO, look at its wave function), 154cm, BG42, s30v, s60v, s90v, and the most favorable are SGPS rolled steel (Fallkniven U2), ZDP-189 (SPYDERCO again) and INFI (Busse, very expensive but worth it).
