Rusty Garden Tools, How can I get the rust off them and keep it off?
I have several garden tools that have oxide years.how them for many do I remove rust and keep them rust free?
Well, since you did not say how rusty they really are, There are several methods. Heavy rust, mechanical cleaning with a power wire brush, you may need a hand or a wire brush that is potentially far more work. There are several products that remove rust, one Naval Jelly. You just spread it and wait – follow the instructions on the bottle. Iron Out is another product. Its hardware or local auto parts store may have other products that do the same thing. After removing all the rust, the tools should be cleaned, dried and then sprayed with a product to prevent rust, as WD-40. Otherwise a good paint job is needed, but the paint fades with each use.
